(Please appreciate that I tried to balance the fat content of the sausage patty by buying the "heart healthy" version of the Bisquick. Somehow it made it all seem OK going down...)

Christmas morning just would not be complete without the sausage rolls! We've made a slight adjustment in our home to the recipe... we use the "maple" flavored Jimmy Dean sausage and instead of making the roll out of Bisquick we've started using pre-made biscuits or crescent rolls to wrap them in.
Taylor experimented with the scrabbled eggs this year and added some feta cheese that we had left over in the fridge from the cheese ball. Not recommended. :)
As much as I totally love the Scharman Christmas morning tradition, the sausage roll was missed...with a little Heinz chili cocktail sauce on the side.
We also tried the ready made biscuits this year....so much easier! I also found Jimmie Dean's lower fat sausage...it was all very good!!! Love those traditions!
