So in Love...

Spencer turned 2 months old  on Sunday...seriously, where did 2 months go? One of the benefits of a "gap" in children is the ability to step back and put things in a different perspective. When HB was born, the boys were only 3 and 2 years old. I loved that time of my life but it was also crazy! I wondered if I would ever NOT feel tired again, if I would ever be able to go to the bathroom alone, or if anyone would ever be able to feed themselves without my help. I now understand how quickly a child's childhood slips by. Sometimes we get so caught up in the daily details that we forget to step back and look at the "big" picture...I feel so blessed to have a different perspective with this baby. I know the sleepless nights are going to end and he will not want to lay curled in a ball on my chest and just be cuddled all night. I know he is going to quickly outgrow his tiny newborn clothes and so I am content to sit and look at his tiny toes and fingers. I know there will always be messes to clean and clothes to fold but there will not always be a little baby that wants to be held. This does not mean that there aren't still hard days...but it is easier to find my perspective and put everything back in its place. This was a blessing I didn't think our family would get to experience again...and I intend to make the most of every moment with all 4 of my children.

A warm shoulder or a spot curled on someone's chest are his absolute favorite places to sleep!

There is NEVER a shortage of people wanting to love on this darling baby. They are sweet and gentle and so in awe of him...I love sharing him.

At dinner one Sunday, I caught the "big" boys comparing the feet size of the "little" boys!

They are a month apart but Spencer can hold his own with his long fingers and feet!

Be still my heart...he always has his hands snuggled into his face while he sleeps.

And he has started smiling...it takes my breath away every time he does. The people in this house will go to any silly length necessary to get a smile out of him.

And I always seem to grab the camera one second too late...but look at that face!

He has these enormous, delicious cheeks and big yummy lips. He is absolutely irresistable!
